Biography

It has been my privilege to be an advocate for over 40 years. I graduated from the University of Miami, School of Law in 1977, where I was an Editor of the Law Review and recipient of the Wesley Sturges Award. I graduated first in my class. My work as an advocate gave me the rare opportunity to become a Fellow and President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, as well as a member of the American Law Institute and an Honorary Bencher of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland.

In addition to my work as an advocate, I have served as a neutral arbitrator for more than 30 years. I am a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators. I served for 12 years as a member of the Board of Directors of American Arbitration Association and for 3 years on its Executive Committee. I now serve as a Fellow and member of the Board of Directors of The Dispute Board Federation.

More recently I became a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Certified Mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). I now serve as mediator in commercial, construction, insurance, hospitality, employment, class action and personal injury cases pending in state and federal courts of the United States, as well as in commercial and investment arbitration disputes domestically and internationally. I am a member of the Panel of Mediators appointed by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the AAA Panel of Mediators.
